Can we alter a door ?

Our customer asked us to fit  new doors throughout the  house, paint and add door furniture. The meter cupboard door  presented  a small problem it was not possible to purchase a door to match, as the doorway was not only  taller, but much narrower too. We were able to cut down a normal size door and remake to size, before painting.
